Lehigh Riverport
Lehigh Riverport has been registered by the National Park Service for Historic Restoration. The National Park Service considers the project as the prototype for adaptive reuse of historic industrial buildings of its size. The Park Service also considers the building, among others along the Lehigh River, as one of America's "most endangered historic places." The former Bethlehem Steel Johnson Machinery Building, built during WWII, is approximately 4 acres under roof and totals 180,000 square feet of interior space. The $25 million project will create 171 wholly-enclosed condominium units and 30,000 square feet of retail space, with 468 parking spaces operated by the Bethlehem Parking Authority. Ashley Development assisted the City of Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Parking Authority in obtaining grant money from the State of Pennsylvania. Click here to learn more. |

Union Station
This historic, 25,000 square foot, 1900's train station was vacated in the 1970's and nearly collapsed as time took its toll on the structure. Ashley Development brought the dilapidated train depot back to life as a health and wellness center occupied by St. Luke's Hospital. Completed in 2003, the $4.5 million project used $1.2 million of public money to help restore the station and aid in the redevelopment of South Side Bethlehem. |

Main Street Commons
The 176-year-old building, formerly home to Orr's Department Store, now contains 17 units of retail space and 33,000 square feet of Class "A" office space. Upon completion of this project in 2000, the National Park Service certified this historic restoration whose facade mimics a multi-building storefront from the turn of the century. |

Pomeroy Lofts
Laubach's Department Store opened their first store in Easton in 1861, moved to this site in 1872. Through store expansions and acquisition of adjoining properties, the store area grew, leading to a renovation in 1910 by architect William Michler. The Northampton Street facade was unified in 1937. In 1947, the retail business was sold to Allied Stores Corp., the parent of the Pomeroy's Department Store. Pomeroy's closed in the 1970s. The property has been largely vacant and not maintained for almost 30 years. Most recently it briefly served as a storage facility for an import company who stored bottles, olives, olive oil and other dry goods on site. Click here to learn more. |
